Sparkling, soulful songs
Drawing on vintage and contemporary roots and jazz
If you’ve never caught Megan Jerome’s life-affirming performances, you’re in for a treat. Backed by the Together Ensemble—all stellar musicians in their own right—Jerome brings a big sound, rich harmonies and vintage keyboards to her original compositions. Variously described as roots, jazz, cabaret and R&B, her songs are really just 100% Megan. By intuitively connecting with her audience, Jerome draws us into her stories, her joy, and her love of life. Not to be missed!
When I wasn’t dressing up in my big sister’s clothes and playing piano teacher (see the piano lessons page…), I was lining my family up on the couches in our living room so I could entertain them during cocktail hour!
For these events I paired my floor length flannel nightie with my red plastic zip-up booties and the widest red velvet ribbon I could find, tied straight across my forehead.
And if you’d like to see how this is playing out in my adult life, scroll on!
I love to dress up and give concerts! I play solo, on piano or on my vintage wurlitzer. I also play supported by my band, The Together Ensemble. The players are Fred Guignion (guitars), Don Cummings (organ) and Mike Essoudry (drums). I love these musicians so much, and I feel so lucky to play music with them - they make my heart soar!
We love to play intimate concerts in local venues and are thrilled to have also performed at the Ottawa Jazz Festival, Ottawa Bluesfest, and CityFolk.
Recently, I’ve been invited to perform private concerts, online or in-person.
What could possibly be sweeter? I’m in my living room, or yours, and we’re all enjoying live music, together.
