Transporting listeners to wondrous landscapes both translucent and obscure, three virtuosic musicians with a rich vocabulary of extended techniques tell a captivating story. Their work is a quiet pointillistic communication performed using a novel combination of instruments: viola da gamba, piano, and tuba.
Carl Ludwig Hübsch is among Germany’s most innovative creators in the field of improvisation-related composition, and Philip Zoubek is one of the country’s most profiled and original piano players. In 2012, they met Montreal-based viola da gamba player Pierre-Yves Martel. The three have been performing as a trio ever since.
After releasing their first album June 16 on the Berlin-based label Schraum, they gave a series of European concerts, two of which were recorded by Austrian National Radio and Radio-France. Their second album Drought was released in the fall of 2016, spurring a 17-date tour across Canada, France, Switzerland, Germany and Norway. Otherwise, the trio’s third album, is scheduled for release on the Swiss label Insub Records in September of 2018.
There is limited seating so RSVP as soon as possible!
